What a gem! We showed up near closing (after checking out sunset at the Colorado National Monument) but we were welcomed warmly. The service was friendly and fast. Our pesto pizza came out quickly and was very delicious. The wine was also delicious and generously poured. The atmosphere was warm but vibrant and the store has an interesting history. We tried to go back on the other end of May our road trip but they were sadly closed on Sunday evenings. Will be back!

Rolled into Hot Tomato solo, close to closing, expecting to feel awkward—pizza joints like this usually buzz with big energy. But instead? No weird vibes. No rush. Just reggae low in the background. I got the cheese slice—because if you can’t get that right, what are we even doing? They got it right. Chewy crust, sauce that tastes like someone gave a damn, and cheese that’s rich, melty, and exactly what I was hoping for. The staff? Not fake-friendly—just cool. Like they rode all day, then strolled into the kitchen still sun-warmed and smiling. Fast, easygoing, and genuinely kind. The kind of people who’d help you fix a flat and hand you a slice. Hot Tomato’s not trying to impress anyone. That’s exactly why it does.

Fast and easy. Pizza slices are big and worth it. Even the little salad is enough for most. Got a slice and little pizza. More than enough for me. Both were great. Staff is friendly and attentive.

I’ve wanted to try this place for years after hearing nothing but great things. After a big lunch here, I certainly understand the praise. Unique pizzas that are clearly thoughtfully crafted (lemon zest crust?!). Friendly and attentive service and a really welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. I’ll be raving about it like the others and I’ll be back!

Hot Tomato did not disappoint this new local. Their thin crust pizza is absolutely delicious—crispy, fresh, and full of bold flavor. Every bite tastes like it was made with care. The vibe here is just as awesome as the food. The staff is super friendly and genuinely happy, which makes the whole experience feel fun and welcoming. It’s clear they love what they do, and that energy fills the place. If you’re in Fruita, this spot is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again!

This was phenomenal. Ashton took our order and it was delightful- super helpful, checked in at just the right times and was one of the best servers we've had in a while. Now the FOOD! My goodness. We got the Beet Street salad (perfect combo of greens, beets, candied nuts) and with the balsamic, chefs kiss. The Icarus pizza was awesome. Great old world pepperonis, veggies and THE CRUST! I'm not a crust person, for normal (aka non stuffed or flavored crust), this is the best I've had in a loooong time. We have starred this for future road trips. Love love this restaurant. Thank you!
